Our people

Our people are behind the success of our company. We value our employees, because through their qualifications and experience, we can be a reliable partner for our clients. Our team includes highly professional workers, through whom we are able to deliver technically complex and time-consuming projects throughout Slovakia.

With the rapid evolution of technology and innovation in our industry, we are aware that increasing expertise is a must. That is why we continually invest in the education of our employees and strive to support their professional development and growth.

In this regard, we have been cooperating with the University of Žilina and the Technical University of Košice for a long time and are jointly developing a platform for the exchange of professional knowledge, experience and for educational support. Our intention is to develop the competencies of future engineers, among whom we often find new talents for our sector. We believe that with qualified employees we can ensure the continuity and stability of our company.

Other professional collaborations

Our cooperation with the company Železnice Slovenskej republiky (Slovak National Rail Company) and the Slovak Ministry of Transport – Special Construction Authority and Transport Authority is important for us in terms of fulfilling state contracts and complying with legal regulations.

The company TSÚS – Technický a skúšobný ústav stavebný, n. o. in Bratislava provides us with professional support and control regarding the technical and safety aspects of construction works. We use cooperation with the Transport Research Institute in Žilina in research and development activities in the sector of railway construction and related innovation.

Cooperation with these institutions is important for our company in terms of acquiring and exchanging expertise and experience and it contributes to improving the quality of our work and services. It increases the skill base of our company and also our credibility.

Koľajové a dopravné stavby s.r.o. performs all its tasks with maximum quality and with the highest level of expertise. This is confirmed not only by many years of experience, but also by its certifications and authorizations to perform the following professions:

Authorizations from the Transport Authority

• Carrying out installations, repairs, maintenance, reconstruction, revisions and tests of designated technical equipment for lifting
• Performance of designated activities: installation, repair and reconstruction of electrical designated technical equipment
• Permit to operate a track, railway siding

• Performance of the activity of construction manager – civil engineering construction (transport construction)
• Performance of construction supervision activities – civil engineering construction (transport construction)

• Inspector of railway tracks and structures
• Specialist in railway tracks and structures (master of railway tracks and construction)
• Freight transport (freight train conductor)
• Train driver — category B2
• Train driver – electrical qualification to drive locomotive

Certificates

By obtaining SCC, VCA and HSE certificates, the company declares its focus on a high level of safety at work.

The international standard SCC (Safety Certificate Contractors) is a guarantee for our suppliers that our company has met the requirements regarding safety, health and the environment (HSE).

By obtaining the SCC certificate, we have come closer to the European standard for meeting the conditions of certification regarding quality management and we also meet the requirements for participation in public tenders.

The VCA certificate is a guarantee of occupational safety managers and the HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) certificate is focused on occupational safety for operational workers in special work tasks.

Quality management    

Quality is of fundamental importance for Koľajové a dopravné stavby s.r.o. Every day our management team works on tasks related to the implementation, monitoring, evaluation and maintenance of the quality management system.

For us, quality management in practice means:

• maintaining the high quality of construction works in accordance with technical specifications, standards and relevant legislation, and also with customer requirements; It also includes continuous quality control and evaluation of work,
• achieving a long service life and safety for our construction work;
• compliance with timetables,
• high flexibility in solving problems that have arisen.

Since 2002, we have been gradually implementing system frameworks set by international standards for quality, environmental performance and workplace safety. The certificates are issued by the renowned German companies TÜV Bayern Sachsen e.V. and TÜV SÜD Slovakia.

Quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 (certification 12/2002) It demonstrates the ability of our company to permanently carry out its activities in accordance with relevant regulations and also customer requirements. At the same time, it is committed to the highest standards of expertise and quality in its industry as follows:

• increasing the professional competence of employees,
• improving the technical equipment in workplaces,
• increasing the economic efficiency of the company,
• maintaining correct long-term relationships with business partners.

Environmental management system according to ISO 14 001:2004

By introducing this standard, we have committed ourselves to being environmentally friendly at all times when carrying out construction, using energy efficiently while respecting the provisions of the relevant legislation.

Occupational Health and Safety Management System according to BS OHSAS 18 001: April 2008 (Certification 04/2009)

The company has undergone a special audit, which confirmed that it has a strong interest in protecting the health of its workers.

In 2019, we obtained certification under the internationally recognized ISO 45 001 standard for the use of an effective occupational health and safety (OHS) management system.

The IMS integrated management system is a confirmation of the quality, efficiency and reliability of the control and operational processes of Koľajové a dopravné stavby s.r.o.

It supports the credibility of the company and strengthens its position in the market.
